This is GreenBag™

GreenBag™ is a closed bag cage, which gives the farmer better control. Incoming water can be filtered and UV-treated, so that lice are avoided, and sludge in outgoing water is collected. Depth-adjustable water intake allows for temperature optimization and better growth. Zero feed waste and fresh fish provide better profitability. GreenBag™ facilitates good fish welfare and energy-efficient food production while protecting the external environment.

GreenBag™ is delivered with a volume of 6000m³, the outer diameter of the float collar is 24.4m, and can thus be installed in steel frames with cages of 25m x 25m.

Merdslippens The main focus is to develop and deliver solutions for aquaculture that take into account good health and welfare for the fish by facilitating the best possible aquatic environment. Ultimately, these are considerations that are crucial for the economics of the aquaculture business. GreenBag -the cage takes into account good fish health and welfare, among other things through depth-adjustable water intake, good water exchange capacity, effective oxygenation of intake water and continuous removal of sedimenting sludge. The use of a fabric-based cage bag also allows for gentle movement and delivery of fish through a patented controlled collapse of the cage bag. Options in the form of particle filtration and UV treatment of the intake water provide further control over the fish's growth environment.

Gentle treatment of the fish

The cage is designed with exclusively smooth surfaces, with the safety net positioned on the outside. This eliminates the need for cleaning throughout the entire production cycle – with only minimal fouling at the waterline.

The fish are not handled during production, ensuring low stress levels and optimal welfare throughout the growth phase. Harvesting is done gently and efficiently using our patented delivery method – without unnecessary handling.

And the logistics of withdrawal are simple:

1 bag · 1 boat · approx. 4 hours

Because the fish are allowed to remain dormant, growth loss is limited to the period immediately before the planned relocation.

The bag cage material is non-toxic and well suited for use in food fish farming. The fabric is many times stronger than what it is exposed to and has good anti-aging properties when used in the sea.

And the operating method is largely what you are used to from open cages.
