Here, the aquaculture industry, research and education are united in the major project "Capacity building for sustainable and innovative seafood production". KABIS focuses on industry-relevant issues.

The 6-year project is led by Uni Research. KABIS will, among other things, contribute to new knowledge and innovation within production technology for the aquaculture industry, in order to achieve an even more environmentally friendly and cost-effective production of salmonid fish.

Research Director Hans Kleivdal of Uni Research, now part of NORCE, welcomed the participants at the kick-off meeting for KABIS, at the Grand Hotel Terminus in Bergen on May 29th.

– It is truly gratifying that we are ready to start now. Thanks to everyone who contributed to a great application last summer, this effort is an indication of what we can achieve in the coming years. We have an incredible team here. We will work together to achieve our overall goal of realizing the potential for sustainable growth in aquaculture, said Research Director Kleivdal.
